Backend Developer

We at Parallelo are a group of technologists, working together with some of the world’s sharpest residential architects. Together we are on a mission to radically change the way new homes and communities are built.

We develop software that automizes the process of identifying, analyzing and illustrating the optimal combination of apartments and room solutions in large, urban housing projects. The software uses generative design to analyze millions of unique combinations in order to find the room solution that maximizes the gross net factor and other KPI’s – which means that we maximize the commercial potential of the site. The developer receives a broader set of solution proposals from the architect, and since new specifications can be tested instantly, developers and architects can work more closely together in exploring and tuning different solutions. Our software also provides a great overview of the various aspects of a project.
Parallelo consists of a small, rapidly growing team looking for passionate people to take part in our journey. We are looking for a talented backend developer. Ideally, you have 3-5 years of experience with languages like C# or C++. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing and testing computational design and geometric optimization problems.

What you'll do

Hands on participation in software/web development, include rapid prototyping for user testing and development
Contribute to the overall product development strategy and defining the technical path ahead
Responsibility for our next venture in the field of generating and automating floor plan drawings

Your profile and your skills

Experience with C# or C++ and with relevant frameworks/libraries in the domain of computational geometry and linear algebra
Experience with vector-based graphics and geometric optimization problems
(2D and 3D)
Highly motivated, curious, able to work both independently and with a team; hungry to succeed
You are an experienced programmer with understanding of software architecture, data modelling and data structures
You are passionate about writing robust code with focus on reusability, testing and documentation
Analytical and problem-solving skills
At least three years of professional work experience as a software developer
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience
Experience with ASP.NET Core, front-end development or the Unity engine is aplus

AI-augmented development

We believe the way software is built is changing rapidly. We are therefore particularly interested in developers who actively use AI tools as part of their development workflow. You may already be experimenting with tools such as Copilot, Cursor or other AI-assisted coding environments to accelerate prototyping, debugging and architectural
exploration. We value engineers who are curious about how AI can fundamentally change how software is written, tested and maintained. Experience with applying AI to solve computational or algorithmic problems is considered a strong advantage.
